Spoofing cPanel email messages: "Your password is about to expire" or "case ID xxx IMPORTANT"

Modified on Tue, Sep 20, 2022 at 4:49 PM

Please do not respond or ignore emails that may look like they came from "cPanel", "NYhost" or "24/7 Customer Service". Those emails contain malware and sometimes ask you to change "compromised" password. Your passwords are secure unless you click on any links inside email or proceed with "password update". Please forward abusive email to abuse@nyhost.net. We'll immediately contact ISP and also block abusive IP or block of IPs.

Please remember: nobody would ever ask you for cPanel or email password via email, phone etc. unless you contact us or cPanel for assistance.

Please make sure that your email client or webmail doesn't show/support emails in HTML format. You can disable HTML messages in settings. If you wish to send and receive emails in HTML, please install commercial Antivirus (in addition to free Defender if you use Windows).

We do recommend Kaspersky Total Protection or Bitdefender Antivirus Plus.

P.S. NYhost.net provides excellent email support and protection. If you're receiving tons of spam, spoofing messages or obscene emails, please contact us. We'll verify DKIM, SPF and DMARC records. We'll also block abusive senders on data center firewall.
