Inactive website has been terminated without prior notice

Modified on Sat, Aug 13, 2022 at 10:24 PM

Any inactive website or inactive cPanel account can be terminated for the following reasons:

There was no traffic/bandwidth in the past 6 months;

OR

Your domain name has expired and terminated by Domain Registrar.

If your domain name was terminated by domain registrar, you may register it again then ask us to restore all data. Please provide the following (under "Backups and Restore"): domain name and username to cPanel. In this case, restore will be free of charge.

Note: we cannot guarantee availability of backups. It's good idea to maintain own backups on local computer or within cloud storage.

If you don't want to register domain name again, you may download backup data from offsite backup server within 6 months after termination date.

Why do you terminate inactive websites?!

There are two reasons: 1. Inactive account has 0 traffic or bandwidth, not being used at all even on domain level (in most cases, domain was terminated by Registrar). However, it does strain server resources during backup procedure. We rotate backups every week and month. 2. We have to pay $0.2 per cPanel account - active or inactive. cPanel recommends to purge all inactive accounts in order to control licensing costs.

Please note: main account or account with WHM access cannot be terminated. If your main domain has expired, you won't lose WHM access, packages/feature lists nor account settings.
