Email forwarders to Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AT&T, Comcast, Verizon etc

Modified on Wed, 14 Sep 2022 at 06:57 PM

In order to improve email deliverability and server IP reputation, all email forwarders set within cPanel, have been disabled.

Email forwarders to 3rd party email addresses or mailboxes hosted by 3rd party email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook etc. can cause severe email issues for your server because they'll also forward spam emails they receive as well, in addition to legitimate emails. And even just forwarding incoming spam emails back out to 3rd party email addresses can be enough to cause your server's email reputation to degrade or even cause your server's IP address to get listed on major spam blocklists.

More of this, recent Microsoft delivery policy (Outlook, Live.com, Hotmail, MSN, office.com etc.) prohibit emails from forwarder or "catch-all" email box.

We didn't experience any issues with Google Workspace or Gmail yet, however, things may change in the future. If IP reputation degrade or we receive abuse reports from Google, we'll disable forwarders to Gmail as well.

If you need to setup/use forwarder, please consider local email forwarding. For example, you can setup forwarder "info@yourdomainhere.com" to "mailbox@yourdomainhere.com".

Local email forwarding is allowed and fully supported. If you need any assistance with email forwarder, please drop a ticket under "Technical Support". We'll get back to you at once!
