Brand Indicators for Message Identification, or BIMI, is a specification allowing for the display of brand logos next to authenticated emails inside Gmail or Google Workspace, Yahoo, Verizon and Apple iCloud. There are two parts to BIMI: a method for domain owners to publish the location of their indicators, and a means for Mail Transfer Agents (MTAs) to verify the authenticity of the indicator.
BIMI can help recipients recognize and trust your brand in the inbox. This trust leads to fewer unsubscribes and spam complaints, which can play a big part in boosting your email deliverability. It will also add extra layer of protection against phishers and spoofers trying to impersonate your brand.
How to activate BIMI on your domain name
First of all, you must use DMARC with either "quarantine" or "reject" policy. To implement BIMI, you must create square logo of your brand name in SVG Tiny P/S format. After that, go to DNS tools then add TXT record:
default._bimi TXT "v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomainhere/img/brand-logo.svg;"
Logo verification may take up to 30 days, so please be patient.
Please note: if you wish to deliver your messages to inbox, please setup SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail) within cPanel. You should also setup another TXT record: DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance).
